Denim Power

Unfortunately last week  I had to visit the dentist because I had two teeth pulled out, so I've spent most of the weekend with the right side of his face swollen. But now I'm totally recovered and full of energy to get back to my daily routine.

With this post I want to pay special tribute to the blessed jeans, that garment that is always in our closet and saves us in those critical moments in which both mind and sight are so clouded that it’s impossible to see or think clearly our outfit. What would we do without this miraculous garment? For this reason I want to dedicate the post to Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis and thank them for their wonderful idea that has bailed me out in many occasions.

La semana pasada tuve la desgracia de tener que ir al dentista ya que me tenía que sacar un par de muelas, así que me he pasado casi todo el fin de semana con el lado derecho de la cara hinchado. Pero por fin estoy recuperada al 100% y con las pilas cargadas para retomar la rutina diaria.

Con este post quiero hacer una mención especial a los benditos vaqueros, esa prenda que siempre está en nuestro armario y nos salva en esos momentos críticos en los que tanto la mente como la vista están tan nubladas que es imposible ver o pensar con claridad nuestro outfit del día. ¿Qué haríamos sin esta milagrosa prenda? Por este motivo quiero dedicar el post a Levi Strauss y Jacob Davis,  los inventores de los vaqueros, y agradecerles su maravillosa idea  que de tantos apuros me ha sacado.

Stripes Alarm

Every time I go to Madrid I feel a captivating energy and inspiration, don’t know the reason yet but the truth is that I feel as if I were a different person, able to accomplish all that I propose.

We had a great day visiting the wonderful exhibition dedicated to the Impressionists (my favorite artists) in the Thyssen Museum. There were spectacular paintings, including Van Gogh and Monet who managed me to move to idyllic places where I could forget all the worries that chase me wherever I go.

This outfit is entirely inspired by one of the current trends, stripes, combined with a masculine coat and a quilted clutch that inevitably reminds me of the classic Chanel 2.55, so I bought it.

Cada vez que me escapo a Madrid me invade una energía e inspiración embriagadoras, no se la razón pero lo cierto es que me siento como una persona diferente, capaz de lograr todo lo que me proponga.

Pasamos un día estupendo, visitando la maravillosa exposición dedicada a los impresionistas (mis artistas favoritos) en el fantástico Museo del Thyssen. Había cuadros espectaculares, entre ellos Van Gogh o Monet que consiguieron trasladarme a lugares idílicos donde poder olvidar todas las preocupaciones que me persiguen allá donde vaya.

El look que os traigo está totalmente inspirado en la tendencia actual casi por excelencia, las rayas, combinada con abrigo de tintes masculinos y un clutch acolchado que me recuerda irremediablemente al clásico 2.55 de Chanel, por eso lo compré.

Sightseeing Toledo

Taking advantage of our little journey to Madrid, on Saturday we had the brilliant idea of ​​visiting Toledo, it’s a marvelous town, I highly recommend you to visit it!
I loved walking through the streets full of history, visiting landmarks such as the cathedral or the house of El Greco or taste the typical and delicious, but a bit cloying, marzipan. Of course you have to be prepared to walk up and down slopes everywhere and walking on a cobblestone that made my poor feet suffer an endless hell. But if we ignore these two minor flaws, I think Toledo is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been to, so if you have the opportunity to go, do not hesitate because it's really worth it.

Aprovechando nuestro pequeño viaje a Madrid, el sábado se nos ocurrió la genial idea de visitar Toledo, es una maravilla de ciudad, os la recomiendo encarecidamente!

Me encantó pasear por sus calles repletas de historia, visitar lugares emblemáticos como la catedral o la casa de El Greco  o deleitar mi paladar con uno de los típicos y deliciosos, aunque un poco empalagosos, mazapanes. Eso sí tienes que estar preparado para subir y bajar cuestas por doquier y andar sobre unos adoquines que hicieron pasar un infierno interminable a mis pobres pies. Pero si no tenemos en cuenta estos dos pequeños detalles, considero que Toledo es una de las ciudades más bonitas que he visitado, así que si tenéis la oportunidad no dudéis en visitarla porque realmente merece la pena.
